H. Brian Sconyers
President  |  CEO  |  Chief Strategist

Brian Sconyers leads HBS Global’s advisory work with multifamily and student housing owners, helping them improve property performance, address operational challenges, and navigate debt negotiations. He brings more than 29 years of experience spanning real estate investment, asset management, corporate finance, and business restructuring.

His real estate experience covers the full investment cycle—from asset selection and acquisition through financing, property management, and disposition. While managing Siete Leguas’ real estate investments, he oversaw student housing and conventional multifamily properties across the southeastern United States, including investments in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. These investments, all subsequently exited, totaled more than $375 million.

At HBS Global, Brian applies that experience to the practical challenges facing property owners: increasing occupancy, strengthening leasing and marketing, improving operating results, and managing debt obligations. His approach combines financial analysis with direct operational involvement to develop actionable plans tailored to each property and its market.

Brian also brings substantial experience managing complex restructurings. In 2018, he led the acquisition of Aalfs Manufacturing, a major denim manufacturer, including the restructuring of more than $100 million in debt and other obligations. Over the following three years, he restructured real estate portfolios across four countries and consolidated manufacturing and distribution facilities. During the COVID-19 shutdowns, he negotiated long-term solutions to debt, payroll, supply, and management challenges while keeping the companies current on their obligations.

Previously, Brian served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategy at Brahm Capital Corporation, where he was responsible for restructuring businesses following investments and acquisitions. His international work included government and corporate debt projects in Mexico, Spain, South Africa, India, and the United States. He began his career at Morgan Stanley and later worked at UBS Warburg.
